Ms. Tonya Holt, Principal

Ms. Tonya Holt will be leading the staff at Overdale Elementary School as their new principal.

Ms. Holt brings with her 28 years in education with experience as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, early childhood associate principal, and most recently as an Educational Recovery Leader with the Kentucky Department of Education. Tonya earned a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She earned her Masters Degree from Murray State University.

Ms. Holt says, “I am excited, honored & humbled for the opportunity to work with the students, staff, and families at Overdale Elementary School. I am dedicated to accelerating teaching & learning while building healthy relationships with all stakeholders. I am eager to begin my journey as an Overdale Mustang!”

Mr. Ryan Sego, Counselor

Hi! I am Ryan Sego, and I am the school counselor at Overdale Elementary! This is my first year as the counselor, and I absolutely love having the opportunity to serve Overdale students and families in this capacity. I truly believe that OES is the BEST!

The start of the 2023-2024 school year begins my twelfth year in education. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I was an exceptional child educator at Overdale providing remedial instruction and helping students overcome barriers to their learning. I also served as the mental health coach where I assisted students and staff with training pertaining to trauma informed care.

My education consists of the following:

Midway University - B.A. Elementary Education with a Special Education Endorsement (2012)
University of the Cumberlands - M.A. Professional School Counseling (2015)
Campbellsville University - Rank 1 Professional School Counseling (2021)

On a personal note, I’ve been married for over 25 years to my lovely wife Jennifer. We have three amazing children Mackenzie (22), Dalton (20), and Grayson (9). I actually attended Overdale Elementary back in the day. I also went to Hebron and graduated from North Bullitt in 1993. I have loved growing up in this community, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to serve it as a school counselor!

Mrs. Carmen Bolyard, Instructional Coach

I was born in Guatemala, a small country below Mexico. I moved to the United States at the age of 15 and lived in the state of Virginia for 20 years until my husband and I moved to Kentucky 5 years ago.

I have been married for 7 years to the love of my life, Justin Bolyard, and have created a small family with him. Together we have an almost four-year old girl named Ellie and a baby girl to be born this December.

I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education. I've taught from preschool to 5th grade and 6th grade math in the last 14 years, which have accumulated into many years of learning from different sources as well as other amazing educators.

I am super excited to have the opportunity to work with every child and every staff member of the Overdale Family to achieve common goals that will help us grow together. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve in the community and become a resource to all.
