Site Based Decision Making (SBDM)

The school site based decision making council shall have the responsibility to set school policy consistent with district board policy which shall provide an environment to enhance the students’ achievement and help the school meet the goals established in KRS 158.645 and 158.6451.

School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Councils create school policies and make a wide range of decisions, from selecting textbooks to choosing a new principal. Most BCPS schools have a council, and most councils include three teachers, two parents, and an administrator.
