Mr. Ben Monnett will be leading the staff at Crossroads Elementary School as their new principal.
Though new to the district, Mr. Monnett brings with him 11 years of experience in education. He has experience in a variety of areas including time spent serving as a special education teacher, assistant principal, principal, and an Education Recovery Leader through the Kentucky Department of Education. Mr. Monnett was also a participant in the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) and the University of Kentucky Next Generation Leadership Academy. Mr. Monnett has a bachelor's degree in Special Education and Middle Grades Education from Morehead State; a master’s degree in Educational Technology, also from Morehead; and an Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership through the University of Kentucky.
Mr. Monnett says, “I'm excited to learn and lead at the primary level where the foundation for creating the pursuit of life-long learning begins. We have the opportunity at CES to not only have major impacts on the educational journey of our students, but to change the life outcomes and trajectories of the families within this community. That is a great responsibility, but I look forward to working alongside the staff and stakeholders of this district in that challenge.”
Ben is happily married to his wife of 14 years, Lauren. The couple has two children: Kayden and Preston. In his free time, Ben loves to travel with his family, read, listen to podcasts, and is an avid sports fan - Go Yankees!
