April 29, 2025 — Bullitt County Public Schools proudly celebrates Bullitt Central High School senior Kaylee Dequardo, who was honored at the April 28 Board of Education meeting for her outstanding achievements in theatre.

Kaylee was recently named a Kentucky Keynote Emerging Artist of Promise by the Kentucky Theatre Association, a prestigious recognition awarded to only four students across the entire Southeastern region. This honor highlights Kaylee’s remarkable talent, dedication, and potential in the performing arts.

As part of the award, Kaylee has earned an all-expenses-paid trip to Baltimore, Maryland, where she will attend the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). There, she will participate in workshops, connect with industry professionals, attend a keynote Q&A session, and audition for scholarship opportunities.

Dr. Amy Compton, BCPS Director of Secondary Education, recognized Kaylee’s achievement during the board meeting and emphasized the significance of this milestone.

“Kaylee’s achievement is an incredible honor, and one that reflects her dedication to the arts, her academic excellence, and her future potential,” said Compton. “To be one of only four students selected from across the entire Southeastern region is a testament to her talent and hard work. We could not be more proud.”

Kaylee’s journey reflects BCPS’ commitment to nurturing students as Self-Directed Navigators, Innovative Problem Solvers, and Effective Communicators, all key components of the BCPS Graduate Profile .

Please join us in celebrating Kaylee Dequardo, her family, and the Bullitt Central High School Theatre Department on this well-deserved recognition.
