Light the Night Fundraising Campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Dear Brooks Family,
The week of March 25-29th will be our fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As many of you know, this is a cause near and dear to my heart. This April 15th will mark the one year anniversary of my daughter, Isabelle’s passing from Leukemia. She was 16 and diagnosed only two months before passing. To honor her and to help thousands of other children fighting blood cancers, I ask that you donate a few dollars to participate in our activities and share the donation link online below. Our goal is $1500.
Activities;
Theme Days- Donate $1 to participate each day
Monday- Hat Day show you support for students going through cancer by wearing a hat all day
Tuesday- Neon Day wear neon to bring light to the darkness of cancer
Wednesday- Super Hero Day be a hero to those battling cancer by wearing your favorite super
hero gear
Thursday- Twin Day no one fights alone. Grab a friend and match from head to toe.
Friday- Team Day Team up for Leukemia. Wear your favorite team colors, shirt, or jersey.
Support Lanterns - donate $1 and hang a paper support lantern around the school.
Red lanterns are for supporters. Write your name and decorate if you want.
White lanterns are for cancer patients and survivors. Write your/their name and decorate.
Gold lanterns are in memorial for those lost to cancer. Write their name and decorate.
The top fundraising classroom will receive a pizza party.

Our fifth graders had two special guest speakers today! #theBESt
Devon Perry-(blue Morehead) D1 Football athlete. Currently works as a nurse in ER and ICU
Mason Faulkner-(professional basketball player in England) scored over 3000 high school points. Mr. Basketball Runner-Up 2015-2016. Played at U of L
Devon talked about building good habits, study skills. You have choices to make—party or study. Studying got him to where he is now.
Mason talked about being consistent with your work. Showing up everyday and trying your be better.
