INFORMATION ABOUT CANDY/SNACKS
It is a festive time of year and with that comes the urge to share treats/candy with your child's class. With an increasing need to monitor foods brought into classrooms due to health issues and allergy concerns, we are asking that you refrain from sending these things to your child's teacher. While there will be candy shared with children at various "Trunk or Treat" nights and our "Fall Festival", it's important to see that these events are optional for our students and their parents will be there to monitor their consumption. Class time requires students to be present and parents are not here with their child. This is why we have chosen to not allow these types of treats to be sent in to be distributed while the students are here at school.
We appreciate you supporting us in this effort to keep your children safe and healthy.
INFORMATION ABOUT COSTUMES
With Halloween time drawing near, we have decided as a staff to allow and encourage students to wear a costume to school to celebrate. We will be using Friday, October 28 as our Dress Up Day here at CGES. With this celebration comes some expectations and we want to make sure everyone is aware and moving forward on the same page.
First of all, the school’s dress code will apply to costumes. This means there are to be no masks, hoods or hats worn with them. Also, students will not be permitted to bring in accessories such as plastic knives, swords, guns, etc. Inflatable costumes are also not ideal for students to wear as they make it very difficult for students to sit, move about and even use the restroom. Please be certain that your child’s costume does not prevent them from using the restroom independently.
As with any other special event at CGES, we will reserve the right to ask students to remove anything that could be determined to be offensive or overly distracting. We want this and every day to be a fun and safe day for all of our students. Please keep in mind that is our primary goal.
