Bullitt County, KY — The Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting on Thursday, October 24th, celebrating local achievements and honoring exceptional contributions to education and the community. This year, the prestigious Outstanding Educator Award, sponsored by Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC), was awarded to Darrell Vincent, head of the Bullitt County Area Technology Center (ATC).
Mr. Vincent’s dedication to Bullitt County Public Schools (BCPS) and his unwavering commitment to career and technical education have made a profound impact on students and the community. Over the years, he has worked tirelessly with JCTC to build career-focused pathways, empowering BCPS high school students in technical programs to make informed decisions about their futures.
Among his many accomplishments, Darrell played a critical role in establishing pathways in Aviation Maintenance Technology, giving students access to specialized, high-demand careers. Additionally, during a county-wide paramedic and EMT staff shortage, he partnered with JCTC’s Paramedic program to provide essential training and support for workforce needs in the community.
“Darrell’s passion for education and his ability to create opportunities for students are remarkable,” said Lee Barger, Director of College and Career Readiness and Innovation. “He continues to push boundaries, ensuring our students have access to programs and pathways that prepare them for success beyond high school. This recognition is well-deserved.”
The Outstanding Educator Award highlights individuals who exemplify excellence in education and workforce development. Mr. Vincent’s innovative leadership at the ATC has fostered partnerships and pathways that benefit both students and the broader community.
