ATTENDANCE MATTERS
11/05/2022
Nichols Knights Families,
We had an amazing week! We are very excited about Fall Festival today! Please join us at the Annual Nichols Elementary PTA Fall Festival today, Saturday, November 5th from 2:00 - 6:00. It will be lots of fun!
We had our monthly Celebration and House Parties Thursday afternoon! Congratulations to Mrs. Tomes’ 3rd grade for winning the Attendance trophy once again for having the highest attendance in October! And congratulations to Mrs. Reverman’s Kindergarten class for having the highest percentage of positive Class Dojo points! They will get to hang the Mojo banner outside their classroom for the whole month of November!
The staff and students also just received their brand-new House shirts! Everyone was so excited and proud to be showing off their House colors! Thank you, Jeanne McCarthy, and Shirts by Design for our fabulous new shirts!
Thursday at the Celebration I also read the names of all of the students who will be allowed to ring the Literacy Bell over at the Nichols Branch of the Public Library. Students in grades 1st - 5th who scored proficient in Reading last spring on the KSA, or this fall on the Predictive Assessment, will get to ring the bell. And Kindergarten students who are “Top Bananas” can also ring the bell. We are very excited to have so many students on our list! Well done Knights!
Repeats:
We received our Predictive Assessment scores which we will distribute at Parent Teacher Conferences, or send home with students the week of November 8th. We also recently received our Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) scores. Fourth and Fifth-grade teachers will be sending home the individual student score reports soon. If you would like to see the data for Nichols, please visit the Kentucky School Report card site. https://www.kyschoolreportcard.com/home?year=2022
Teachers are now scheduling Parent Teacher conferences. Some of you have already been contacted. If you haven’t had a conference yet, feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher through Class Dojo so you can get a conference scheduled.
