ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Nichols Knights Families,
Our attendance has continued to be low this week. The flu, COVID, and the stomach bug, is not letting go.. We appreciate your support in following the 24-hour fever and vomit free rule. It helps to reduce the chance of germ-sharing. Also, please remember, when your child is absent, even if you have spoken to us on the phone about the absence, we still need a signed excuse note (parent or doctor) for the absence to be excused. Too many unexcused absences result in truancy letters being sent home. We’d like to avoid that. Notes should be sent to Maggie Bledsoe, our attendance clerk.
We are excited to be entering the last two weeks before winter break. We have lots of fun things planned. Next week we will have our monthly celebration and House Parties on Thursday. We will also have the Santa Shop. The preview day will be Dec. 6th and shopping will be in the morning on Dec. 7th and 8th. And on Thursday evening, Dec. 8th Santa will be at Nichols from 6:00 - 8:00 for our Polar Express Title I Literacy Night. Then the following week we will have special dress-up days and our winter parties. Happy Holidays!

BCPS has a new district website this year, and every school also has a new website. There is a lot of great information and it’s easy to find. My favorite feature is the Event Calendar.
