ATTENDANCE MATTERS
02/10/2023
Nichols Knights Families,
This week we celebrated Counselor’s Week and FRC Week. We are so fortunate to have Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Belcher in these two vital roles to serve our students, staff, and families. All week, students and staff showed their appreciation for both of them by showering them with cards and notes of thanks. On Wednesday, the staff celebrated with a PB&J PJ day because our Counselor and FRC “Go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly!” Any staff member that donated peanut butter or jelly to the food pantry, got to wear their PJs! Thank you, ladies, for all you do and for planning such a fun week!
If you’ve never visited their websites, take a minute to check them out!

We also had our monthly school Celebration and House Parties on Thursday. We had lots of amazing things to celebrate from January.
A group of 1st graders led by Lily Gaw sang our “12 Powerful Words” song.
Aubree Anderson played Amazing Grace on her recorder.
Abby Wilson accepted a certificate for winning the AARP Grandparent Essay contest.
Mrs. Kirk’s 5th grade received the Mojo Banner for the highest percentage of positive points earned in Class Dojo.
Mrs. French’s 1st grade received the High Attendance trophy for their excellent attendance in January.
Congratulations to all! Well done, Nichols Knights!
Repeats:
We will have a Safe Schools Audit in mid March. When the audit team visits they will be asking for input from teachers, staff, bus drivers, parents and students. I will share more details when the tentative date of March 14th is confirmed. If you’d like to participate, please let me know.
BCPS has a new district website this year, and every school also has a new website. There is a lot of great information and it’s easy to find. My favorite feature is the Events Calendar. As events are planned and scheduled, we add them to the Events calendar. You will also find my Nichols News articles posted each week in the "News" section of the Nichols Website. Please visit the Nichols Website and keep up with Class Dojo to stay informed.
Upcoming dates:

02/20 - Professional Learning Day - no school for students
