Todays teacher spotlight goes out to Mr. Ezell. Mr. Ezell is our permanent guest teacher and has been serving in a first grade classroom since September. Not only does he love the kids and shows it with his actions on a daily basis, but the kids love him back. Old Mill is so lucky to have him!

Your selfless dedication to ensuring the audio excellence of these events has not gone unnoticed. Your expertise and commitment to perfection played a crucial role in making the programs not only successful but also memorable for everyone involved.

In Mrs. Gentry's class students were challenged to be engineers and design a container that would keep ice from melting outside on a hot day. The designs were tested and then we discussed why some containers worked better than others. #koalascreate

Today was a very exciting day at OMES. Students participated in the first annual OMES Thanksgiving Parade. K-4 students constructed their own balloonsand 5th grade students created floats for the parade. The students had so much fun showing off their creativity to the school. #koalascreate

This weeks teacher spotlight goes out to Mrs. Yocum. "Mrs. Yocum is one of the most positive and uplifting individuals that has such an amazing impact on those around her. She is someone who leads by example, which is so encouraging to Old Mill staff and students! Old Mill is so lucky to have her as a part of our team. Mrs. Yocum, you are truly amazing!"

This weeks student spotlight goes out to Cassidy in 2nd grade. "Cassidy showed that she is a wonderful leader and a kind friend. When another student's project broke, Cassidy offered to share her own finished project to help her friend feel better. This made her friend happy and showed everyone what a caring and helpful person Cassidy is."

This week our student advisory committee had their first meeting. They quickly started brainstorming ways we continue to make our school experiences even stronger for our students! #koalascreate

This weeks teacher spotlight goes out to Mrs. Jump. "Mrs. Jump has a heart of gold! She is thoughtful and truly cares about her students and colleagues. She is an amazing leader and has willingly opened her classroom wall to assist our guest teacher in 1st grade. She goes above and beyond her job requirements and does it with a smile on her face! She is a productive collaborator, innovative problem solver, effective communicator and is a wonderful role model for our students. OMES is so lucky to have her as part of the koala family! "

Today's community spotlight goes out to all of our amazing community members that joined us at our career fair today. Students are working on their first learning excursion of the year in related arts where they are focusing on the culminating question "How can we take action to make a change in our community?" Today was the entry event where students were learning how the different professions served our community and learned more about different professions.
