Last week, we had the opportunity to celebrate one of the very best—Mrs. Thompson for Assistant Principal Week (a little early before Spring Break, but just as special)! 💙 Mrs. Thompson truly embodies what it means to put students first. Her leadership, kindness, and unwavering support make a difference in the lives of both students and staff every single day. Whether she’s helping solve problems, cheering on successes, or simply being a steady and positive presence, she goes above and beyond in all she does. We are so grateful for all the heart she pours into our school. Thank you, Mrs. Thompson, for everything you do to make our school a better place!

Over 856 adults showed up for our Graduate Profile Student Showcases last week—and we are just so grateful. 💙💛 Our students stepped into leadership, shared their growth, and truly owned their learning… and our families showed up in the best way. If you have a powerful takeaway or a moment that stood out to you, we would love to hear it—your words mean so much to our students and staff. We couldn’t do this work without your support, encouragement, and partnership. Thank you for believing in what we’re building at Old Mill.

Topgolf helped us launch our Forces & Motion science unit in the best way! ⛳️ Students are already making connections across content—blending science with geometry as they explore shapes, perimeter, and what it takes to design their very own mini golf holes. The level of thinking and creativity has been so fun to watch! Stay tuned to see how we bring collaboration with our ATC into this work—connecting ideas, feedback, and real-world thinking as projects come to life. 💙

We’re excited to share that Mrs. Rachel Ellis is transitioning into a Kindergarten teaching role at Old Mill! 💙💛

With 15 years of experience and a strong passion for creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences, Mrs. Ellis brings so much to our youngest learners. Many of our students already know and love her from her work in Cultural Explorations, and we know she will continue to build those strong relationships in this new role.

Mrs. Ellis is also a proud part of our Old Mill community as both an educator and parent, which makes this transition even more special. We are so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for our Kindergarten team!

Through “Nature Did it First,” they’re making connections and thinking like true innovators as they prepare for their upcoming Biomimicry Genius Challenge! 💡🌎
