In Mrs. Gentry's class students were challenged to be engineers and design a container that would keep ice from melting outside on a hot day. The designs were tested and then we discussed why some containers worked better than others. #koalascreate

Today was a very exciting day at OMES. Students participated in the first annual OMES Thanksgiving Parade. K-4 students constructed their own balloonsand 5th grade students created floats for the parade. The students had so much fun showing off their creativity to the school. #koalascreate

When another student's project broke, Cassidy offered to share her own finished project to help her friend feel better. This made her friend happy and showed everyone what a caring and helpful person Cassidy is."

Students are working on their first learning excursion of the year in related arts where they are focusing on the culminating question "How can we take action to make a change in our community?" Today was the entry event where students were learning how the different professions served our community and learned more about different professions.
