Morning Drop-Off Procedures
Thank you for embracing our new morning car rider routine! Our adjustments have successfully kept traffic off Highway 44, keeping our community safe and traffic moving.
Important Arrival Steps
Two Drop-Off Lanes: Both lanes are active. Please fill all gaps between vehicles as you pull up.
Wait for the Bright Orange Card: Staff will display a bright orange card to signal when it is safe for students to exit.
Safe Walkways: If your child is in the far lane or exits from the driver-side door, ensure they walk down the center sidewalk to the crosswalk.
Release: Once all students in the zone are safely on the sidewalk, staff will release that group of cars, and the next group will pull forward.
Parent Guidelines
Stay in Your Vehicle: Adults must remain inside the car to keep the line moving safely and efficiently.
Turn Right onto Hwy 44: Exit to the right toward Shepherdsville whenever possible to prevent backups.
Share the Plan: Please pass these procedures along to anyone else who drops off your child.
Goal: Keep our Cougar Cubs safe and arrival running smoothly every morning!
🚗 NEW Roby Elementary Arrival Procedures: Starting TOMORROW MORNING 🐾
We are making a few adjustments to help our Cougar cubs arrive at school safely and efficiently! Please review our new morning drop-off procedures.
✅ Two drop-off lines will be available.
✅ Pull up to the stop sign. Cars between the start and stop cones will wait for staff directions before releasing students.
✅ Wait for the signal! Once all students are safely on the sidewalk, that group of cars will be released. The next group will pull forward and wait for directions.
🚫 Adults, please stay in your vehicles! This helps keep traffic moving and gets our students safely into the building.
➡️ Exit to the right toward Shepherdsville whenever possible to help reduce traffic backups.
📣 Please share these procedures with anyone who drops off your child in the morning!
Thank you for helping us keep our Cougar Cubs safe and our morning arrival running smoothly! ❤️🐾

📚✨ Happy World Teachers’ Day! ✨📚
Every great RES Story is filled with characters who make a lasting difference—and our teachers are some of the most important characters in ours! 🐾💙
Our teachers do so much more than teach lessons. They encourage, inspire, challenge, celebrate, and believe in our Cougar Cubs every single day. They help students discover their strengths, find their voices, solve problems, work together, and grow into the amazing people they are becoming.
From the first page to the last, our teachers help make each student’s story one worth telling. 📖✨
Today, we celebrate the educators who show our students that they have a friend in RES and that their story is just beginning!

☀️📚 Math looks a little brighter in the sunshine!
Our 3rd graders took today’s math learning outdoors, bringing their learning target to life while enjoying some fresh air and sunshine! 🌿☀️
Learning doesn’t have to happen within four walls. Experiences like this encourage students to think, problem-solve, communicate, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning—skills that are at the heart of the BCPS Graduate Profile.
Today, our Cougars were growing as Mastery Learners, Innovative Problem Solvers, Productive Collaborators, and Self-Directed Navigators—all while having a little fun with math! 💙🐾
Learning happens everywhere. We’re Moving Forward! ✨
