Her commitment to inclusivity shines through in the way she has supported and embraced a Deaf student over the past five years, ensuring she felt fully part of the team, alongside her peers and interpreters.
Ms. Knight builds confidence, fosters leadership, and holds high expectations for all students, always making sure they know she is in their corner. Her kindness, consistency, and belief in every student’s potential have made a lasting impact on so many lives.

🛏️ Sweet Dreams for Shepherdsville! 🌙
We are incredibly proud of the Shepherdsville Elementary School community and the Bullitt County volunteers who showed up in a big way on Saturday, April 25th!
Through the SES Family Resource Center’s "Build a Bed" program, our community came together to ensure that 30 students now have a comfortable, safe place to sleep. This initiative is a beautiful example of our commitment to supporting the "whole child", recognizing that success in the classroom starts with a good night’s rest.
A Heartfelt Thank You To:
🩵Traci Gould (FRC Coordinator): For her vision and dedication to our families.
🩵Our Volunteers & Staff: Who spent their day building bed frames and organizing supplies.
🩵The Bullitt County Community: For donating the essentials that make a bed a soft place to land, including bedding, night lights, and teddy bears for each recipient.
At Bullitt County Public Schools, we know that we are stronger when we work together. Thank you, SES, for leading with heart and showing what it means to be #MovingForward!

🌟 Shout-Out to the MWMS Generals! 🌟
Huge congratulations to our Mt. Washington Middle School 8th graders for hosting a powerful Human Rights Expo!
These students stepped up as Mastery Learners and Effective Communicators, turning the gym into a space of purpose and passion. After weeks of researching the complexities of human trafficking and modern-day slavery, they shared interactive exhibits with families, staff, and the BCPS community to advocate for those whose voices are often silenced.
🛡️ Leading with Impact:
◾Mastery Learners: Tackling urgent global issues like survivor stories, legal solutions, and consumer responsibility.
◾Effective Communicators: Presenting with heart and clarity to inspire real-world change.
We are incredibly proud of the empathy and professionalism our Generals displayed. You didn’t just complete a project; you started a conversation that matters. 💜

After learning about CASA and their mission to support children, Mr. Peake immediately offered to have his students create custom wooden signs to bring joy to more than 60 children in Bullitt County.
He took the lead in making this project a reality by collaborating with local businesses, securing materials, and guiding students through a meaningful service project that reminded us all of the power of children helping children.
Thank you, Mr. Peake, for using your role to inspire generosity, compassion, and real-world impact. Your leadership and heart are making a lasting difference! 💙👏

💐NBHS Students Bridge the Gap Between Classroom and Career
When Floral Design students at North Bullitt stepped into their Funeral/Sympathy unit, they weren’t just practicing techniques, they were stepping into the shoes of professionals. Logan Peters, NBHS teacher, launched a real-world simulation that took learning to a whole new level and brought the BCPS Graduate Profile to life.
From "blind" client consultations to drafting Bills of Materials for wholesale fulfillment, these students handled every step of the floral business, demonstrating mastery in several key areas:
🌼Effective Communicator: Students conducted sensitive, professional interviews with clients to uncover their needs and visions without any prior background.
🌼Innovative Problem Solver: From managing wholesale budgets to navigating the logistics of the 'Day of Shattered Dreams' event with the Youth Service Center, students tackled real-world industry challenges.
🌼Community Contributor: By creating meaningful arrangements for local events and honoring loved ones, students saw firsthand how their skills can provide comfort and support to their community.
In April, those designs came to life! Students delivered their final products to their clients, receiving real-world feedback on their craftsmanship and professionalism.
Thank you, Mr. Peters, for your dedication to creating "Future Ready" students and for showing us how to turn a learning experience into a life lesson. This is another wonderful example of how NBHS and BCPS are "Moving Forward".

Adults: Aim for 30 minutes of physical activity.
Whether it’s a competitive game on the field, a walk through our beautiful Kentucky parks, or a quick dance break in the classroom, every movement counts toward better physical and mental health.
💬 A Huge Thank You

May is Mental Health Month💚
The U.S. Surgeon General reminds us that "social connection is a fundamental human need, as essential as food and water." This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s honor that need by committing to check in on one another and building the meaningful bonds that help us all thrive.
Because no one should have to navigate life’s weights alone, your Care Match Link is available as a 24/7 lifeline for whenever daily stress feels like too much. This May, keep this resource close, for yourself or for someone you love, so support is always just a click away.
