Don't forget about Winter Bash! ❄️

Our Biology students took learning beyond the classroom as they presented lunch menu items they designed to an authentic audience! 🧪🍽️
Students shared their ideas with our school cafeteria staff and the district Director of Food and Nutrition, explaining the science, nutrition, and creativity behind each proposal. This real-world experience gave students meaningful feedback and showed how their learning can directly impact our school community.
Student voice, real-world connections, and hands-on learning in action! 👏

English 1 students hosted a Cultural Showcase to demonstrate how literature, art, and music bring culture to life. Each student selected a culture they wanted to learn more about and researched how cultural expression shapes identity and traditions.
As part of the project, students were required to include an interactive element. They brought their learning to life by preparing food, hosting bracelet-making activities, creating coloring stations, choreographing dances, and offering a variety of hands-on experiences that best represented the cultures they studied.
The showcase was open to families and fellow students, providing a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the diversity, creativity, and traditions that make each culture unique and important. #EveryEagleEveryDay

We want to remind everyone of our parking expectations to ensure safety and consistency on campus. Students may only park at school if they have an official NBHS parking pass.
Beginning Monday, any vehicle parked on campus without a valid parking pass will receive a warning sticker on the windshield, and the vehicle’s license plate number will be recorded.
A second violation will result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
At this time, all parking passes have been sold. We will resume selling additional passes once construction is complete and additional parking spaces become available in January.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and orderly parking environment for our students and staff.

History was made in Mr. Wayne's class today. The first score over 100 in Trashketball Review game history! #EveryEagleEveryDay

Students in Mrs. Starks’ class had a truly transformational learning experience this past week as they took on the challenge of designing the freshman English final project. Throughout the unit, students have explored culture through literature, art, and media. Using this understanding—along with the course standards and performance tasks—they worked collaboratively to create what they believed would be the most meaningful and engaging final assessment.
Yesterday, each group presented their proposed final project, showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the content. It was inspiring to see students take ownership of their learning and design assessments that reflect both rigor and relevance.

Happy Thanksgiving from Anatomy! Exploratory Turkey Leg Dissections 🦃

Mr. Logan’s Principles of Agriculture students put their meat scientist caps on as they smoked hams! Students selected their own rub recipes, rubbed down their hams, and compared how different seasoning blends impact flavor, texture, and appearance during the smoking process—just in time for Thanksgiving this Thursday!
They also tackled a classic meat science question: “What is that pink stuff in the packaging?” (Hint: it’s not blood!) Students learned about myoglobin, meat coloration, and why packaged meats look the way they do—connecting real-world food science concepts to hands-on experience.
Through this lab, our students served as…
📘 Mastery Learners as they applied food science knowledge to real meat processing techniques.
🤝 Productive Collaborators as they worked in teams to season, prepare, and manage their hams throughout the smoking process.
💡 Innovative Problem Solvers as they explored how different rubs, ingredients, and science-based factors influence the final product.
💛 Community Contributors by strengthening their understanding of safe, high-quality food preparation—skills they can bring back to their families and community, especially during the holiday season.

AP Human Geography Cultural Cuisine Day!
Students in AP Human Geography explored foods from cultures around the world today. Each student selected a traditional dish to prepare and share with the class, turning the classroom into a global tasting experience! It was a delicious way to connect geography with real-world cultural traditions and deepen their understanding of the world around them. 🍽️🌍
