Reminder! No school today, Monday, 1/16/23. Today, remember to always push forward. In the words on Martin Luther King Jr, "If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

Our students and teachers have been hard at work! We'd like to take a moment to shout out our 5th grade STLP team for helping teach new technology to the rest of the school. Mrs. Kirk's 5th graders also spent time relaxing and reading! What a week!

Yesterday was our monthly Celebration where we gather and celebrate all the things that we accomplished in December! Grace, our newest 1st grader, got sorted into House Darroch! Mrs. Ferrell's 4th grade won the attendance trophy and Mrs. Tomes' 3rd grade won the Class Dojo Positivity award! Afterwards, we broke into houses to have some fun! Agnew and McClellan hashed it out in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Chicken! Darroch made kindness cards for their friends, and Cameron played games to build bonds between the different grades!

Here's a little Monday Fun! Did you know? The second Monday of January is National Clean Off Your Desk Day! It's always a good idea to start a new year with a fresh workspace. Say goodbye to junk, organize, declutter, and destress. (That includes your computer desktop, too!)

We are so proud of our Nichols Knights Archers! They represented NES at their first tournament this past weekend. Of course, Friday afternoon, we had to send them off with some good luck and positive vibes!

January is National Mentoring month! Mentoring.org states that, "mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone outside of their family who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter."
