The 4th grade students had an exciting field trip to Squire Boone Caverns, where they explored Boone's burial site inside the cave and learned about the cave formation process. They experienced the life of early settlers by making candles, mining for gems, and observing how corn was ground in a gristmill. The trip provided hands-on insights into history and geology, making it a memorable learning experience!

This weeks community spotlight goes out to Raptor Rehab. They visited our 3-5 grade students last week. This incredible organization, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured or orphaned birds of prey, introduced us to some fascinating raptors and shared inspiring stories of their recovery efforts. Students had the unique opportunity to see majestic hawks and awe-inspiring owls up close while learning about the vital role these birds play in our ecosystem. Raptor Rehab’s visit left us all with a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation and how we can help protect our local wildlife. We are grateful for their impactful work and the chance to experience it firsthand!

Today the Kindergartners enjoyed having their 5th grade buddies visit! They helped them celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday today. Together they created apple collages and read a magazine about Johnny Appleseed. It was a great morning getting to know their buddies better. The 5th grade buddies are being amazing leaders to the younger students!

Today, Mrs. Grady's 4th and 5th graders had the exciting opportunity to teach the entire 2nd grade! They introduced their younger peers to the essential skill of identifying the main idea in informational texts, while also exploring the fascinating world of plant and animal adaptations. With minimal assistance from Mrs. Grady, the 4th and 5th graders took charge of their learning experience. They diligently prepared and organized their lessons, creating engaging anchor charts, worksheets, and thought-provoking questions, all while discovering their unique teaching styles. The 2nd graders were thrilled to observe live frogs and geckos, along with a variety of vibrant plants, bringing the lessons to life in a truly memorable way! Today will be a day that all of these amazing students remember!
