Dear BCPS Families, Happy Thursday! Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we navigate the challenges of this winter weather. After carefully assessing current secondary road conditions and reviewing the projected forecast for the next 36 hours, we have made the decision to designate Friday, January 10, as NTI Day #1 for Bullitt County Public Schools. With an additional 3-4 inches of snow expected tomorrow morning, this decision ensures the safety of our students, staff, and families. Key Details for NTI Day: -Students and families will be receiving communication from their teacher(s) in regards to NTI plans for the day. Please review assignments and expectations with your child to ensure a smooth day of learning. -Resources for NTI are available on the district website to support families. (https://sites.google.com/bullitt.kyschools.us/bcps-nti-information/home) If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your child’s teacher or principal. We are here to help. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this winter weather together. Returning from Christmas break under these conditions has been challenging, and we appreciate your grace and flexibility. A special thank you to our incredible maintenance and custodial teams working 14-16 hour days to clear heavy snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks. Thanks to their efforts and those of our county road crews, we’re making progress toward a safe return. Here is our updated plan: Wednesday, January 8: -District offices remain open; 12-month employees report to work. -Maintenance and custodial crews continue clearing snow and ice. -Schools will communicate Chromebook re-distribution details. Thursday, January 9: -Bullitt Day (in-person) for teachers and staff. -No advisory or district cohort meetings to allow time for classroom preparation. Friday, January 10: -Students will return either in-person or via NTI. -A final decision will be made Thursday afternoon based on road conditions, power availability, and weather forecasts. As of now, we anticipate using three snow days this week, adjusting the last day of school to Friday, May 23rd. Please note plans may change based on evolving conditions. Stay tuned for updates via email, text, and Thrillshare notifications. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we prioritize safety and learning for our students.
