On Tuesday, February 25th the Bullitt County Area Technology Center wrapped up CTE Month with our annual Technical Opportunity Night. Parents and students were introduced to all our CTE programs and learned how every program has a post-secondary connection to college, trade school, apprenticeship, or earn and learn employment. Previous graduated were highlighted as three former graduates all under the age of 25 are currently employed in high wage careers. One student is and Aviation Mechanic at UPS, one is a Mercedes Benz Mechanic, and the other currently serves as the only Paramedic employed in a neighboring county. The presentation was followed by an open house so that parents and students were able to tour the facility and meet with teachers and current students.

We have several Bullitt County ATC students that will be getting a jump start on their careers.
Two of our certified welders, Gavin Conner (ROC) and Kaleb Neubert (BC), are working on graduating early and have interviews set up with the local 502 pipefitters union in January.
Three of our electrical seniors will be doing electrical co-ops starting in the spring that could lead to an apprenticeship after graduation. Nathan Brown (NB) and Damien Meffert (NB) will be working with Wagner Electric and Tate Parkerson (BE) will be working at Tate & Sons Electric.
We are proud of their work and the work of our welding and electrical instructors.

Eleven of our fifteen Emergency Medical Technician students attended the Bullitt County First Responders Luncheon hosted by the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce. Since the program began in 2021 our Bullitt County students make up nearly 10% of the Bullitt County EMS. Many of the graduates of the first cohort are now Advanced EMT's and Paramedics. One of those students serves as the only paramedic in Spencer County. This program has addressed the needs of our county and has produced students that are authentically Community Contributors .

BCPS goes gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness.
Please support this all important cause through your school or the specialized programs at ROC and ATC. You may bring donations of toys or snacks to the front office of Riverview or ATC.

Electrical Field Trip 2/23/2024
Mr. Steven Ashford's electrical students had a unique opportunity to visit a house under construction on February 23rd. The house was at a point wherre students were able to see the wiring and make determinations about how the electrical code was satified. Students had a scavenger hunt to make sure they knew what to look for and they were also required to draw a rough blueprint and identify the different rooms in the house. The electrcial program owes this incredible opportunity to our carpentry instructor, Mr. Troy Jackson, who arranged this unique opportunnity. #CTEEMpowerED #CTEmonth #Moving Forward.
