Joelynn has really excelled as a student and person this school year. Joelynn is a student at the Riverview Opportunity Center and is in the Aviation program at the Bullitt County Area Technology Center. Joelynn came to ROC as a sophomore after spending her freshman year at Bullitt Central with a goal of becoming a pilot and working in the field of aviation.
Joelynn is currently taking Aerospace Engineering at the Area Technology Center with Mr. Dickson to prepare to take the private pilot written exam this spring. Joelynn is also enrolled in our JCTC college Aviation Maintenance Program. Joelynn travels to JCTC to class each Wednesday and Thursday during the school year to take college courses in Aviation Maintenance. These college courses prepare students to become an aviation maintenance mechanic. Joelynn has currently passed 3 college classes and has received 9 credit hours at JCTC, she will earn 24 credit hours in the program before graduating high school. In addition to completing the college classes, Joelynn has also passed our 4 high school aviation flight courses.
Joelynn is the only girl of the 11 students currently in the college program and one of only six girls in our aviation flight program at the ATC. Joelynn has a goal of working in aviation and is excelling and is definitely an inspiration to young ladies in our district.
Joelynn is an excellent example of the opportunities that exist in our district for students and the unique opportunities provided at Riverview and the Area Technology Center. We are very proud of Joelyn as one of our high-flyers!!!

Congratulations to these students for passing the KYTRACk Electrical Examination. #BullittATC #Moving_Forward

Congratulations to these students for passing the Industrial Maintenance NIMS Operations Examination. #BullittATC #Moving_Forward

Congrats to these students from Bullitt Central and Bullitt East for passing their Carpentry TRACK Pre-apprenticeship exam. #BullittATC # Moving_Forward

Sydney Key was one of our first students enrolled in the EMT program offered through Bullitt County Public Schools, the Bullitt County Area Technology Center, Bullitt County EMS, Bullitt County Fiscal Court, and Jefferson Community and Technical College.
🎉 💪🏻 Time for another #MotivationMonday - Check out what one of our alums, Sydney Key, is up to these days... Sydney, BCHS Class of 2021, is currently trying to further the learning she began here in BCPS by gaining as much experience as possible in many different medical fields. Just recently, she spent the day with PHI Air Med London 1, and then she went on to spend a week shadowing a trauma surgeon in the ER at UK hospital. Sydney's mom, Missy, said, "I never know where she'll be or what she'll be doing! The EMT Program through BCPS was the best thing she could have done to help with her surgeon career (and the best path to medical school)." We can't wait to see what else the future holds for Sydney! ✨ #MovingForward #BCPSCommunityContributor 📬 PS - Do you have a story of how BCPS has helped inspire and equip our students to succeed in life? ATC and BEHS Alum (2020) Luke Roby stopped by the aviation program today to talk with students and aviation instructor Mr. Dickson. Luke is a Junior at EKU and has achieved his flight rating and will be working as a flight instructor as he continues to pursue his commercial pilots license. Luke spoke to students about the advantages of having this program in high school and completing the private pilots written exam early.
We are really proud of Luke and glad he stopped in to motivate and encourage our current students.

🎉 💪🏻 Talk about #MotivationMonday - Check out what one of our alums, Angela Swan, is up to these days...
Angela Swan completed her masonry track test with the Local 4 Union last school year as a senior from Bullitt East. She was identified as an extremely talented young person through her completion of a written test, a skills performance, and an interview. She is currently working with a union contractor, Snell, and is in the Local 4's Union Apprenticeship Program.
This program sent her to a "Women in the Trades" conference in Las Vegas last year and now, Angela has been invited to be a part of virtual roundtable called “Labor Women Who Lead”.
Talk about living out our Graduate Profile skills and our district's mission of being ready to succeed in life - Angela is exhibiting this each and every day! Congratulations, Angela!!

Bullitt Central and Bullitt ATC student Francisco Pagan provided a learning opportunity for teachers at the Bullitt ATC this morning. Teachers are creating and working with communications rubrics aligned with the BCPS graduate profile. Francisco shared his presentation with the teachers today to let us test out our rubric and model feedback for students. Francisco was able to share his presentation and receive feedback for improvement prior to presenting to the BCPS board of education April so they can see how the graduate profile is coming to life for teachers and students.

2022 Bullitt East and Bullitt County ATC graduate Angela Swan is going to be a panelist for an upcoming "Labor Women Who Lead" roundtable on March, 25th in honor of #WomensHistory Month
