It's official! 8th grade Class of 2023 Promotion Ceremony has been set for Tuesday May 30th at 6pm at NBHS!
Congrats to the ZMS Archery for their success this past weekend!
The Bullseye team came in 3rd place at the Cedar Grove Archery Tournament.
The 3 D team participated in an outdoor tournament and came in 2nd place.
Olivia Close came in 2nd place in overall middle school girls with a score of 267
Zadee Lau came in 3rd place in overall middle school girls with a score of 263
Tyler Harley came in 3rd place in overall middle school boys with a score of 270.
Last week, the 7th grade students in Mrs. Thompson's Arts and Humanities classes attempted to experience creating art the way Renaissance artist Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel - on their backs!
8th grade ONLY- dance tickets will be sold during mentor (homeroom) starting this Monday to the day of the dance Friday April 28. Just a reminder that the dance is for 8th graders only, from 6:30-8:30pm. Further info was sent home with students as well as a permission slip.

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Thompson's Arts and Humanities classes have been learning about art of the Middle Ages. Using sidewalk chalk, students created their own version of an illuminated letter.

It's time to start gearing up for 8th grade end of year activities! Like previous years, Mrs Voight will create an 8th grade video for viewing during the promotion ceremony and make it publicly viewable after.

7th grade students in Mrs. Thompson's Arts & Humanities classes have learned about Gothic architecture and created their own stained glass "windows"!
Last week our band attended KMEA Large Group Assessment- which is the school band equivalent of spring testing! Our students performed extremely well according to Ms. Parsons and heard wonderful feedback from the judges. Way to go ZMS Band!
The past few weeks all students have had a chance to experience a genre book tasting in the library with Mrs. Voight. Students got a closer look at different types of books than they may normally pick to encourage a love of reading. Many students found new books to try!

While students have been off school these Bullitt Days, ZMS teachers have been working hard! They have been taking lesson materials and elevating them to increase rigor and engagement.
Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Walls' students working on problem solving and design this week and used the “RoundRobin” strategy. The students offered up different solutions each day on how to solve a specific “design problem.
