Our ZMS Band had a busy weekend! They participated in Solo and Ensemble performances, earning a ZMS record best 20 distinguished ratings!! Some band members also participated in WKU's honor band. Mrs. Spratt's science classes modeled the chemical reactions of photosynthesis and cellular respiration with marshmallows! Added bonus, when they eat the marshmallows, their bodies undergo aerobic (cellular) respiration.

BCPS Superintendent Dr. Bacon visited some ZMS students today! All 8th grade students researched a real world issue then wrote an argumentative letter to an elected representative or someone in authority. These students chose to write to Dr. Bacon on the topic of school start times. He came to meet these students and address their points in person!

Our archery team participated in a "home" tournament this past weekend and the 8th graders and their families were honored. Our team came in 3rd place overall. Cheyenne Harley came in 3rd place overall Middle School Girls Olivia Close came in 4th place overall Middle School Girls Tyler Harley came in 5th place overall Middle School Boys. The team qualified to participate in the KY State NASP Bullseye Tournament in a few weeks! And our 3D team has qualified to participate in the KY State NASP 3D archery tournament. This will be the 1st time that a Zoneton Archery team will participate in a 3D state tournament. Our 3D team is currently ranked 16th in the state in the middle school division. Way to be #ZonetonStrong!!
