The last few days of school are always a busy time! This week there have been several engaging activities. In 7th grade science classes, students have been creating parachutes and testing which design lasts the longest. In 6th grade, students wrote their own questions about their novel study "Maniac Magee" and played Are You Smarter than a 6th grader against their teachers! And finally we had a band concert and enjoyed listening to the band students' hard work!
Our 8th graders have been working on a big science project: The Spencer Project. Students have been collaborating with GE engineers and using STEM skills to design backpacks using recyclable materials. Yesterday, they got to present to GE engineers on their designs and 3 groups of students were chosen as winners! This was an amazing experience for our students, thanks to Ms. Winchell's leadership!
Winners:
Cheyenne Harley, Adriana King and Blessing Mabua
Joey Howard, Trenton Dixon, and Payton Broussard
Landon Woodson, Katelyn Garrett, Kylie Floyd and Brandon Reece
